Rakesh Wahi is the founding partner of Capital Management Advisors (“CMA”) and has since its inception in 2002, been serving as Chairman. He is responsible for the sourcing, planning and execution of all investment banking mandates for CMA in the Middle East, Indian Sub Continent, Africa, Asia and the United States.
Mr. Wahi is the Co-Founder of CNBC Africa, Forbes Africa, ABN Events, Murdoch University Dubai, Ananya Farms and Tech One Global. He closely oversees the management of all these ventures. He was the Co-Founder of P. Document Solutions Private Limited, India which he exited in 2007.
Mr. Wahi has been involved with several corporate development projects, feasibility studies, investment evaluations and transactions in the cable, satellite, television, telecommunications and education industries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa over the last 17 years. He has been closely involved with the Private Equity Industry and was responsible for the setting up of the Middle East’s first Islamic PE fund focussed on IT and technology Investments.
Mr. Wahi started his career in the Indian Army where he received the coveted Vishisth Seva Medal (“VSM”) from the President of India for dedication and bravery beyond the call of duty. During his illustrious army career he served with an Infantry Division and India’s crack Armoured Division. He also was part of the team that established India’s second base at the Antarctic in 1987 as part of India’s seventh scientific expedition.
Mr. Wahi was educated at the Doon School in Dehradun, India and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and a Diploma in Business Administration. He is a Chartered Engineer from the Institute of Engineers, Calcutta, India.
